A day on the road, Roll on The ROCK!
Scott filling water tank up - Coober has water bowsers at each end of the town. |
Water is from the Artesian Basin & tastes great - only 20c per 30 litres. |
Hitting the highway - destination Uluru - 760km |
Leaving behind the moonscape of Coober Pedy Opal fields. |
Road Trains are loooooonnnnngggg out here. |
Tongue twister "Drowsy Drivers Die" sign, or as I mistakenly say every time we pass one "Dopey Drivers Die" |
We entered state / territory number 3 for the trip - lunch stop and shenanigans on the NT border. |
Don't see these in NSW |
Uluru turn off - YIPPEE only 2 hours to go! |
Don't be fooled - this is Mt Connor not Ayers Rock - still spectacular! |
32kms to go - first sight of Uluru |
28kms to go - our fist sighting of Kata Tjuta (Olga's) |
The view from the road as we got closer - so beautiful |
Big blue skies, flat country, nothing for boys to climb except street signs; until today. Parkour - here we come,
ReplyDeleteThere is something magic when you see The Rock for the first time on the trip.
