The first float in the parade and it was a monster. |
The Rotarians |
The Australian and NZ Rotary crew in the Parade, is a group of about 15 caravans and motor homes from all over Oz and NZ.
We first met up with the Rotarians in Coober Pedy at the Oasis Caravan Park, we are doing a fairly similar itinerary to each other. So far we have met up at the SA / NT border, Uluru, West Mac's and now in Alice.
They had told us they were competing and we promised to give them a loud cheer of support - which we did.
Best name - Just doing a blockie. |
3 Little Pigs with the chant - Get some Pork on your Fork. |
After the excitement of the Parade we went for a wander through Todd Mall.
We visited some shops, galleries, bought souveniers and the all important Roald Dahl books for the boys - this time a box set (should keep in reading for a while in the car!)
Look Toddy they named a pub after you! |
Cafe Page 27 great coffee just off the side of Todd Mall. |
Friends had lived in Alice for a couple of years and gave me the inside tip on where to get the best coffee - It lived up to it's rep - mmm coffeeeeeee.
Next it was up the Anzac Hill - the lookout over Alice Springs. Great panoramic view over town and surrounds. A must for all visitors.
The Henley on Todd finals in action below. |
Next we ducked out to the historic Telegraph Station for a quick look around.
Alice Springs is well worth a few days stay, not only to restock or check out the West Mac's but also to enjoy this town and the surrounds.
Wow, some great photos there Fi. It all looks fantastic. You will now be the official photographer on our outings. Love them. Enjoy xxxxx
