Day 13 - West Mac's

After a leisurely morning of pancakes and pack up we then headed up for a look around Ormiston Gorge.

The Ghost Gum walk warned that you had to wade through waist deep water so we decided to climb up the lookout and stay dry, especially on this chilly 8 degree morning.

Up at the look out, just beautiful.
The steep steep steps to and from the look out.
Mulla Mulla flower.

Dec and Mitch were told by one of the Grey Nomads we passed on
the way up that there is a Dingo cave 2/3 of the way so they
had to scamper up for a closer inspection. Luckily no one was home!

Army training in the gorge, we stopped to watch the zip line.

Next Stop - The Ochre Pits

Declan was so excited to finally be here in the Ochre.

Next stop was a picnic lunch at Ellery Big Hole.

After checking out some stunning gorges and water holes and the rocky ranges that line the road we headed towards civilization - Alice Springs.

We have been without mobile cover for 5 days now, so contacted loved ones to say we are all ok and back in range.

We set up camp and headed in to town to get a few supplies - replacement Crocs for the pair the Dingo took at Yulara, restock the groceries as the basics were running a little light on and we finally ate out for the first time this trip.

Alice Springs has grown in the 15 years since I was last here!
